What is the difference between vertical and horizontal gas boilers?

Vertical and horizontal structures are currently the two most common boiler types, each with its own unique characteristics.
The main differences between the two are:
1. Size.
Vertical gas boilers are vertical, while horizontal gas boilers are smaller and more suitable for installation.
2. Structurally, vertical boilers are mostly water-tube boilers, while horizontal boilers are most often fire-tube boilers.
3. Operating hours.
Through-flow boilers have a simpler structure, smaller water volume, and faster steam production. Horizontal gas boilers, on the other hand, offer sufficient output, strong load adaptability, and more stable long-term operation.
4. Steam quality.
Horizontal gas boilers have a steam drum to ensure steam quality, but vertical gas boilers lack a steam drum and cannot separate steam water. Excessive steam water leads to poor steam quality, making it difficult to meet the steam quality requirements specified in the General Technical Specifications for Industrial Boilers.
5. Different Applications
Vertical boilers have a smaller capacity and are suitable for small workshops and manufacturing operations. They are commonly used for hot water and heating, as well as for production and processing. Horizontal gas boilers have a larger capacity and a wider range of applications.
